THE PSYCHEDELIC ELECTRONICS

‍ ‍DISTORCEDOR

Original Regulus VIII fuzz pedal.

Many have cited the sound of the Regulus VIII fuzz pedal as a driver of creativity in music. Its original inventor CLÁUDIO CÉSAR DIAS BAPTISTA pioneered many audio effects and developed an ingenious guitar synthesizer unparalleled to this day. CCDB may indeed be the musical counterpart to Nikola Tesla in his progression of the field of electronic sound in Brazil.

The Regulus VIII has inspired me to faithfully reimagine its unique psychedelic sound with the Distorcedor fuzz.

HISTORY:

Like the legendary Regulus VIII, the Distorcedor has controls capable of shaping the character of the guitar’s output signal.

The Tone Switch has a major impact on the sound. When OFF you get a huge planet shaking fuzz tone. May send socks to the moon or interstellar space. When ON it cuts the bass a bit to allow sonic space for chords and adds distinct bright sound.

The F Knob controls the level of a Highpass Filter on the stage output. This makes it easy to thin out the fuzz for a nearly bass free tone.

The O Knob controls the amount of Overdrive. Bypassing the diodes allows for both a much louder level and smoother tones suitable for chords.

The V Knob is for Volume level control. Useful for those who live in apartments or need to levitate large blocks of granite or limestone.

Both the standard grip tape and limited edition etched versions of the pedal posses the same circuit and functions.

The Distorcedor runs off of a regular 9V center negative pedal power supply.
